This unique design for a high energy efficiency house comes from our PhD Architect Moisés Royo Marquez. It is a sustainable construction (Passive house) , a building standard that is comfortable, economical and environmentally friendly at the same time.
A passive house consumes 90% less heat than a house in building stock and even compared to an average new building, savings of more than 75% are made. The heating energy consumption of a passive house is around 1,5l heating oil equivalent per square meter of living space and year, many times less than that of a low-energy house.
In addition, the living comfort in a passive house is significantly improved The passive house uses the energy sources available inside, such as the body heat of people or incident solar heat – the heating is thereby fundamentally simplified. Special windows and a shell made of highly effective thermal insulation in the outer walls, roof and floor slab keep the heat inside the house.
A ventilation system, in which a highly efficient heat recovery makes the heat of the exhaust air available again, ensures consistently fresh air without drafts.
